Melissa Lebrun, HR & Operations Manager
Melissa began her career at Falmouth Veterinary Hospital in October of 2014 and worked her way from CSR to HR & Operations Manager. She came to Falmouth Veterinary Hospital with 6 years of management experience in the veterinary field in both small animal general practice and emergency medicine. She is a proud member of the VHMA and is currently in the process of being certified as a HR professional. Her favorite part of working at FVH is being part of a progressive team that strives to provide the best quality care to patients and clients by focusing on education and preventative care. As the HR & Operations Manager and with the help of her excellent leadership team, she challenges herself to continually seek out growth opportunities for the FVH team to ensure excellence in the care that you and your pet receive.
Melissa currently resides on the coast of Maine with her husband; two growing boys and Ray the most lovable cat this side of the Mississippi. When she is not working you can find her engaged in her other passion teaching and creating art with people of all ages and abilities.
Laura Rust, CCSM - Client Service Manager
Laura joined the FVH team in 2014 with 10 years of customer service experience from a variety of settings. At Falmouth, her position has evolved from CSR to now, the Client Service Manager. She is an active member of the VHMA and finished her Customer Service Manager Designation course in 2018. Laura is truly passionate about our customers, their pets and the exceptional staff she has the pleasure of working with.
Laura resides on a beautiful dairy farm in southern Maine with her husband, Ryan and daughter, Sylvie. In her free time you’ll find her with friends, family and enjoying the outdoors.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to work at FVH where I can continue to grow professionally, support a team of remarkable people, and connect with our amazing clients and their pets; my position here feels like home.”
Sarah, Client Service Representative
After studying animal science at the University of Rhode Island, Sarah worked in various customer service roles. Since 2009, she has worked as a CSR at different veterinary hospitals in Massachusetts until relocating to Portland in December. Sarah joined the FVH team soon after, in January of 2017. She thrives on witnessing the wonderful bond between clients and their pets in her daily work. Outside of work you’ll find her spending time with family and her Black Lab mix named Gus. She also thoroughly enjoys cooking and reading.
“Even after a challenging day, I appreciate the role pets play in my life – they are family to me, and this helps me understand how clients feel when their furry family member needs help.”
Kim, Client Service Representative
Kim began working at FVH in 1985 during her summer break from teaching – and she’s been a friendly face at our front desk on and off ever since! She joined us full-time in 2007 and has made it her passionate mission to get to know all our clients and their pets, helping them any way she can.
In Kim’s spare time she enjoys hanging with her own pets (3 fabulous felines), hiking, biking, swimming, photography and trying to catch up with her grown daughters, who now are in their twenties.
“Some say that one definition of happiness is finding a job that you do not need to take a vacation from…that pretty much sums up how I feel about working at Falmouth Veterinary Hospital over the past 30+ years. It has been a true pleasure from the start.”
Tia, Client Service Representative
After 8 years in the animal hospitality industry, Tia joined the FVH team in December '17 with the hope of growing her knowledge and passion for animal care. After becoming Reiki certified in 2012, she has applied that energy healing to her work with animals as a hobby. This lead Tia here to further understand the scientific approach to wellness.
In her spare time, Tia enjoys any activity with her boxer mix, Luca, singing and playing guitar. "Animals and music are what I'm most passionate about. Finding a way to intertwine the two simultaneously sounds like a lot of fun - that's my mission!" You can also find Tia hiking, kayaking and paddle boarding in the warm weather.
"My favorite part of working at FVH is, of course, seeing all the cute animals that come through the door! But also, working for a team that is so dedicated to growing their knowledge in every possible way to better serve and help clients and their fur babies is inspiring!"
Hannah, Client Service Representative
Hannah recently returned to Maine after living in Rhode Island for a brief time. In September of 2018, she joined the FVH team. She has a background in customer service and massage therapy but her love of the bond between pets and their people brought her to explore a new path here at Falmouth Veterinary Hospital.
Hannah lives in Gray where you’ll find her tending to her many house plants, watching a good movie, or reading a mystery novel. While she doesn’t currently have any pets of her own, she often takes her family’s corgi mix Dexter hiking and exploring on the weekends and has plenty of love to give the pets of FVH.
Peter, Client Service Representative + Hospital Assistant

From great horned owls and reptiles to horses and rabbits, Peter has been lucky enough to work with all sorts of creatures, domestic and otherwise, and is a proud small animal advocate. He specializes in all manners of animal care, training, and enrichment--with both professional and personal experience working with fearful and anxious dogs.
